Main1. Scientific activityDoctor of Science in Organic Chemistry (Dr.Sci.) Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry Chair, Chemistry Faculty, National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, Volodymyrska 64, 01033 Kyiv, Ukraine, a Member of European Photochemistry Association (EPA), a Member of American Chemical Society, e-mail address: pvg@univ.kiev.ua. He head a group of students and Ph.D. students in the works on design and synthesis of multichannel fluorescent probes and ion indicators on the basis of flavonols, 3-hydroxyquinolones, dicyclopentane[b,e]pyridines and ketocyanines. The group collaborates with many scientific groups in the world, for example from France (Faculte de Pharmacie, Universite Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, Faculte de Chimie, Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse,), USA (University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, Institute of Molecular Biophysics and Department of Chemistry, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL), Poland (Gdansk University, Gdansk), Sweden (Department of Medical Cell Biology Biomedical Centrum, Uppsala University), Turkey (Institute of Biology, TUBITAK Marmara Research Center), Belarus (Institute of Physics, BAS, Minsk) the Netherlands (Vrije Universiteit, Department of Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, Amsterdam) and Spain (Departamento de Quimica Fisica Aplicada, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid). The most intensive collaboration takes place with the scientists from Institute for Chemistry at Kharkiv National University and from A.V. Paladin Institute of Biochemistry, NAS, Kyiv, Ukraine. Joint results are published in the top scientific journals. The group took place in the European scientific project INTAS (grant 96-1225: "Crowned ketocyanine dyes as a new generation of fluorescent probes sensitive to biomembrane surface potential"), French-Ukrainian programs of scientific collaboration "DNIPRO" and "EcoNet", as well as "Visby" program of international scientific collaboration of Sweden. 2.
